Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, representing Delaware’s at-large district, shared a series of public statements reflecting on recent events and political concerns through her Twitter account. In the first statement made on April 9, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester expressed her pride in attending an event at the Capitol honoring her brother-in-law as a Lung Force Hero. She affirmed her commitment to standing with the American Lung Association to support individuals affected by lung cancer and vowed to continue her advocacy for accessible healthcare. "When I heard my brother in law was being honored as a Lung Force Hero here at the Capitol, I made sure I could be there. I'm proud to stand with @LungAssociation to support people living with lung cancer and I'll always fight to protect access to care."

In a subsequent post on April 10, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester criticized the recent budget proposal advanced by the Republican party, voicing her disapproval of measures that she claims would jeopardize the healthcare access of approximately 250,000 individuals in Delaware. She reiterated her opposition to the proposed budget and pledged continuous efforts to mitigate its adverse impacts. "Republicans just took another step to advance their terrible budget – threatening care for nearly 250,000 Delawareans to give their super-rich friends a massive tax break. It’s unacceptable, and I won't stop fighting to lessen the blow of this bad deal on our communities."

Later that day, Senator Blunt Rochester addressed what she perceives as unmet promises by the current administration, specifically referencing a failure to reduce the cost of eggs as initially pledged. Her statement underlined broader concerns about the administration’s pattern of unfulfilled commitments. "What happened to bringing down the cost of eggs on “day one”? With this administration, it’s broken promise after broken promise."

Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester has been serving in the U.S. Congress since replacing John Carney in 2017. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1962, Rochester has been a resident of Wilmington and graduated with a BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985.
