On March 19, 2025, Rep. Blunt Rochester addressed the impact of leadership decisions during the AIDS crisis in a tweet: "The AIDS crisis - which claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans - was made much worse by leaders who stood in the way of life-saving research & treatment."
