Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Delaware’s at-large district since 2017, recently shared her views and condolences on social media. Her posts reflect both her concerns about healthcare policies and her sympathy for a tragic event affecting the Delaware community.
On January 30, 2025, Rep. Blunt Rochester expressed concern over the qualifications of a candidate for HHS Secretary. She stated: "No woman should be turned away from emergency care if her life is on the line. We need an HHS secretary that understands the basic functions of our life-saving policies. I didn't see that from Mr. Kennedy today."
The following day, she addressed a tragic incident involving members of the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club. On January 31, 2025, she posted: "Delaware experienced a massive loss today. Coach Alexandr Kirsanov and skaters Angela Yang and Sean Kay were returning from a training camp in Wichita, Kansas where they were practicing their love of the sport when tragedy struck."
In a subsequent tweet on the same day, she conveyed her sympathies to those affected by this loss: "As we grapple with this unfathomable loss, my heart breaks for the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club and our community. I extend my deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of those we lost."
