City of Newark issued the following announcement on Nov. 21.
To avoid cutting services or staff, the Mayor and members of council agreed to a 13.3% tax increase beginning in 2020. This equals approximately $72 annually or $6 per month. The City will reassess the numbers next spring and make adjustments if necessary.
