Census Bureau: 89.3 percent of people in Newark were old enough to vote in 2019

Of the 33,448 citizens living in Newark in 2019, 29,855 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 16,105 of those people were female and 13,750 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2020 will be released later this year.
