Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Delaware’s at-large district, recently shared her thoughts and activities through a series of tweets. Her statements touched on themes of community support, scientific advancement, and societal issues.
On June 1, 2025, Senator Rochester extended her greetings to the LGBTQ Community for Pride Month. She emphasized the fragility of progress made towards equality and reaffirmed her commitment to standing with the community in their fight for equality. “To every member of the LGBTQ Community in Delaware and across the country, Happy Pride Month! As we’re reminded how fragile the progress we’ve made is, I’ll always stand with you in the fight for equality.”
Later that day, Senator Rochester expressed her appreciation after touring the Chestnut Run Innovation & Science Park. She highlighted Delaware’s longstanding pride in research and development efforts and expressed optimism about how this new complex could address contemporary challenges. “Grateful for the opportunity to tour the Chestnut Run Innovation & Science Park this week. Delaware has always taken pride in its research & development. I’m excited to see how this complex will contribute to an information ecosystem solving the challenges of today and tomorrow.”
In a tweet dated June 2, 2025, Senator Rochester conveyed her sorrow regarding an incident of hate that occurred in Boulder, Colorado. She offered prayers for those affected and called for unity against hate and antisemitism as investigations continue into what transpired. “I am shocked and saddened by this act of hate in Boulder, Colorado. I’m praying for all those affected. As the investigation continues, we must all stand together in strongly condemning hate and antisemitism.”
Lisa Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA degree in 1985.
