Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently used her social media platform to comment on issues related to U.S. foreign policy and domestic economic conditions.

On July 31, 2025, Blunt Rochester announced her vote on two measures concerning U.S. military support for Israel, stating: “Tonight, I voted for two resolutions to suspend further military aid and arms sales to Israel. The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza is unconscionable. The seemingly deliberate bombing of civilian infrastructure, the alleged killing of Gazan civilians seeking food aid, the”.

Later that day, she addressed rising costs facing American families as they prepare for the new school year: “Thanks to this administration’s chaotic economic policy, back-to-school shopping is going to be more expensive than ever this year. Here’s a look at just some of the price hikes parents will face when buying the basics this year.”

On August 1, 2025, Blunt Rochester criticized current economic management by the administration: “This administration has created an economy so full of chaos and uncertainty that job creation has nearly slammed to a halt. It couldn’t be clearer: they have us headed in the wrong direction.”

Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She earned her BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985 and succeeded John Carney as Delaware’s representative in Congress beginning in 2017.
