Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Delaware’s at-large district since 2017, posted several critical comments on her social media account regarding recent actions by the current administration.

On August 27, 2025, Blunt Rochester responded to an unspecified development with a brief remark: “Hmm.” Later that same day, she commented on reports of the firing of the CDC Director shortly after confirmation: “This is ridiculous. Just one month after her confirmation, the CDC Director has been fired. If reports that her ouster is related to support of basic vaccine science, we should all be very concerned.”

The following day, August 28, Blunt Rochester criticized what she described as unqualified appointments within federal agencies: “We knew this was coming. This administration put totally unqualified children in charge of millions of Americans Social Security data. This is yet another example of this administration putting the wellbeing of everyday Americans at risk in the name of ‘efficiency’.”

Lisa Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA in 1985 and succeeded John Carney as Delaware’s representative in Congress.
