Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, addressed several national issues on July 29, 2025, through a series of posts on her social media account.
In her first post of the day, Senator Blunt Rochester highlighted concerns over housing affordability: “From veterans to new families to kids, people across America are feeling the strain of the housing affordability crisis. For the first time in over a decade, our committee just passed bipartisan legislation to increase housing supply, cut red tape, and spur innovation.” (July 29, 2025).
Later that evening, she commented on proposed changes to public health oversight: “For over 40 years, the Preventative Services Task Force has played a key role in keeping our communities safe and healthy. But as expected, RFK Jr. is moving to disband it. This is further proof that he’s unfit to lead HHS. We’re going to fight this.” (July 29, 2025).
Addressing environmental policy decisions by the current administration in her final post of the day, Blunt Rochester wrote: “By claiming climate change and the pollution that causes it aren’t a threat to Americans, this administration is giving big polluters a green light to make our air and water dirtier and our communities sicker as a result. Make no mistake: this endangers all our communities.” (July 29, 2025).
Lisa Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA in 1985.
