Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of statements on her Twitter account addressing recent national developments.

On April 29, 2026, Senator Blunt Rochester commented on rising fuel costs and foreign policy decisions, stating: “Gas prices just hit a four-year-high thanks to Trump’s war of choice in Iran. After campaigning on ‘making America affordable again’ Trump has made everything more expensive for American families while spending our tax dollars on ballrooms and bombs. This isn’t leadership.”

The following day, April 30, she addressed a Supreme Court decision impacting voting rights: “I’m not surprised by today’s Supreme Court ruling, but I’m devastated by what this will mean for Americans whose voices will be silenced. This fight is far from over, and we’re going to do everything in our power to fight back and defend voting rights everywhere.”

Later that same day, Blunt Rochester expressed appreciation for President Biden with a brief message: “Thanks, @POTUS.”

Lisa Blunt Rochester succeeded John Carney as Delaware’s congressional representative in 2017. She was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985.
