Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently used her social media platform to criticize Republican health care policies and express concerns about the Trump administration’s economic promises.

On September 2, 2025, Blunt Rochester posted, “When congressional Republicans and the Trump administration forced through the largest health care cuts in history, they put hospitals up and down our state at risk. They were so desperate to give rich people tax cuts, they made it harder for Americans everywhere to get care.”

The following day, she continued her criticism of former President Donald Trump’s policies with another statement: “The Trump administration promised to bring down costs for everyday Americans, but day after day we see costs continue to rise. They continue to prove they’re not looking out for everyday Americans, only their billionaire friends and donors.” This tweet was posted on September 3, 2025.

Blunt Rochester also weighed in on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s role as Secretary of Health and Human Services. On September 4, 2025, she wrote: “.@SenatorWarnock is right – In addition to RFK Jr’s lack of credentials, his agenda is a threat to the health of the American people. It’s time for @SecKennedy to resign.”

Lisa Blunt Rochester succeeded John Carney as Delaware’s representative in Congress in 2017 and has served continuously since then. Born in Philadelphia in 1962 and now residing in Wilmington, she graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA in 1985.
