Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently used her social media platform to comment on federal health policy decisions, labor negotiations, and investments in higher education.
On September 24, 2025, Blunt Rochester criticized the Trump administration’s approach to public health guidance, writing: “The Trump administration is rejecting help from experts – our doctors, nurses and scientists – opting instead to make medical recommendations based on no evidence at all. RFK Jr was never going to make America healthier, but now it’s clear how harmful his recklessness could be.”
A day later, on September 25, she addressed ongoing federal labor negotiations and access to healthcare: “Instead of negotiating, the Trump admin. is trying a different strategy: threaten to do something they’re already doing. While Republicans play games with federal workers’ lives, Democrats are fighting to restore health care for millions of Americans. We are not the same.”
Later that same day, Blunt Rochester highlighted recent achievements by Delaware State University (DSU): “Another day, another major investment at @DelStateUniv, it’s no surprise they were just ranked #4 among public HBCUs! Partnerships like this give DSU students the skills they need to face the challenges of today & tomorrow. Proud to support all they do for DE’s future leaders.”
Lisa Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. Since succeeding John Carney in Congress eight years ago, she has been an advocate for Delaware’s interests at the national level.
