Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, representing Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, has recently expressed several concerns on social media regarding issues affecting the nation. Her statements touched on themes of political responsibility, economic hardship, and support for veterans.
In a tweet from April 30, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester emphasized the commitment of her party, the Senate Democrats, in championing the interests of the United States. She stated, “This is the country we love, and @SenateDems are always going to stand up for it.”
The following day, May 1, 2025, the senator criticized the impact of tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump on American families, especially with the holiday season approaching. In her post, she commented, “Trump has no idea what it’s like for countless families who work hard all year to buy presents for their kids. As his tariffs threaten to put holiday gifts out of reach, he just shrugs. Why are Senate Republicans working overtime to help Trump steal Christmas?”
Additionally, on the same day, she addressed a decision by the Trump administration that involved the termination of a program designed to assist veterans in avoiding foreclosure. Senator Blunt Rochester highlighted her collaborative efforts with Senator Richard Blumenthal to introduce legislation aimed at restoring this aid for veterans, urging for immediate action: “The Trump administration just ended a key program that helped veterans avoid foreclosure. Without warning. @SenBlumenthal & I have a bill that would replace that program to keep veterans in their homes. We need to pass it NOW.”
Lisa Blunt Rochester has served in the U.S. Congress, representing Delaware’s at-large district since 2017, following her predecessor, John Carney. Born in Philadelphia in 1962, Rochester graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985 and currently resides in Wilmington.
