Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, addressed a range of national issues in recent posts on her social media account.

On September 17, 2025, Blunt Rochester questioned the actions of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his associates regarding vaccine recommendations, stating: “The recommendation to vaccinate babies against hepatitis B nearly eliminated infections. So why is RFK Jr. letting his anti-vaccine allies put that recommendation in jeopardy? Today I asked former Director Monarez to explain how CDC recommendations help keep our kids safe.”

Later that day, she referenced civil rights leader Barbara Jordan during a speech, writing: “I opened my speech with a quote from the late, great Barbara Jordan, whose questions about division in our nation ring as true today as they did nearly 50 years ago. The question before us is clear: how do we rekindle Bright Hope for America?” This invocation highlights ongoing concerns about national unity and optimism.

On September 18, 2025, Blunt Rochester commented on the suspension of television host Jimmy Kimmel, posting: “You don’t have to agree with Jimmy Kimmel to be outraged by his suspension. Punishing someone for exercising free speech is what autocrats do. If you care about the freedoms this country was built on, now is the time to speak up.”

Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985.
