Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently addressed several issues and events on her social media account.

On August 8, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester commented on proposed legislation by Republican lawmakers and its potential impact on Delaware residents. She stated, “I want to remind everyone that Republicans’ big, ugly bill puts 13,000 Delawareans at risk of losing some of their critical SNAP benefits. Delawareans are not just numbers on a page – they are our friends, our loved ones, and our neighbors. They deserve better than this.”

The following day, August 9, 2025, she responded to news of violence affecting public health workers. In her post she wrote: “Deeply saddened to hear of the shooting at the CDC yesterday. I’m praying for the loved ones of the officer who lost his life in the line of duty. CDC staff are dedicated public health servants working tirelessly to keep our communities safe and healthy.”

Also on August 9, Senator Blunt Rochester offered birthday wishes to a fellow member of Congress from Delaware: “I want to wish @Rep_McBride a very happy birthday today! Our Congresswoman is a true friend, an amazing public servant, and a role model for future generations of leaders in our state.   Congresswoman, enjoy your day! Here’s to another year of service to the First State “

Lisa Blunt Rochester has served as Delaware’s representative in Congress since succeeding John Carney in 2017. Born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently residing in Wilmington, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985.
