Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has been representing Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently took to social media to express her concerns on several pressing issues. Her posts highlight her stance on healthcare cuts, environmental policies, and budget priorities.
On May 14, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester posted about her return to the House to support the Energy and Commerce Committee Democrats. She stated: “Last night, I headed back to the house to support @EnergyCommerce Dems as they fought back against Republican efforts to make deep cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.” She encouraged her followers to listen to Ranking Member Frank Pallone for further details.
Later that day, she addressed environmental concerns by criticizing a recent policy decision. On Twitter, she noted: “The science is clear: polluting our drinking water with forever chemicals threatens communities everywhere.” Senator Blunt Rochester expressed disapproval of what she perceives as an administration prioritizing corporate profits over public health and safety.
In another post on the same day, Senator Blunt Rochester reflected on a budget hearing with RFK Jr., expressing her apprehensions about his fiscal proposals. She shared: “A budget is a reflection of priorities, and when RFK Jr. came before me in committee, I took a moment to share the real, painful impacts of the priorities his budget reflects.” The senator questioned whether genuine compassion was present in these proposed budgetary changes.
Lisa Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985 with a BA. Currently residing in Wilmington, she has dedicated herself to serving Delaware since succeeding John Carney in Congress.
