Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on her social media account this week.
On September 18, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester emphasized the importance of employment and its role in American identity, stating, “The dignity of work is essential to what it means to be an American. I know jobs. I love jobs. And I know that for Americans to find purpose in their work, we need a different approach to jobs in this country.”
Later that same day, she highlighted the necessity for youth education regarding artificial intelligence: “Our kids need to be AI-literate. They need to know the problems, the protections, and the possibilities.” This comment comes amid growing public debate about technology’s role in education and workforce development.
On September 19, 2025, Blunt Rochester criticized actions by Secretary Kennedy related to vaccine policy at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She wrote: “This week, we found out just how hard Sec. Kennedy is working to undermine vaccines at the CDC. Now, his hand-picked committee is changing a science-based vaccine recommendation, making it harder for parents to keep their kids safe and healthy. Our families deserve better.”
Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985.
