Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Delaware’s at-large district since 2017, addressed several pressing national issues in a series of posts on her official social media account this week.
On September 23, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester commented on recent legislative actions regarding government funding and health care. She stated, “Last week, Democrats voted for a bill that would keep the government open and restore health care funding for millions of Americans. Republicans blocked that bill and left town. If the government shuts down, it’s because they refused to negotiate.”
Later that day, she shared concerns from constituents about proposed health care cuts: “Up and down our state, I’m hearing from people and organizations alike who are worried about the impact of Republicans’ health care cuts. @senatedems aren’t going to stand by while this administration makes people sicker and poorer.”
On September 24, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester responded to an incident in Dallas: “As we continue to monitor the situation in Dallas, my prayers are with the victims, families, and first responders affected by this tragedy. We should not – and cannot – be a nation in which scores are settled with shootings and those we disagree with are targets for violence.”
Blunt Rochester has served as Delaware’s at-large representative since replacing John Carney in 2017. Born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently residing in Wilmington, she graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985.
