Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, addressed several policy issues in a series of tweets posted on July 30, 2025.

In her first tweet of the day, Blunt Rochester criticized efforts to redirect funding from public education, stating: “Shifting funds away from public education gives private schools, not students and families, more choices. We have the tools we need to improve public schools for students and educators everywhere, but they only work when we invest in them.” (July 30, 2025)

Later that afternoon, she commented on recent changes to tax filing procedures under the Trump administration: “Translation: the Trump administration just made it harder and more expensive to file your taxes. Who voted for that?” (July 30, 2025)

In a subsequent post that evening, Blunt Rochester discussed legislative progress addressing housing affordability: “Let Me Be Blunt: It’s way too expensive to rent or buy a home in this country—this week, we finally took action. The Banking Committee passed a major package of legislation to fast track new construction and give millions a place to call home. Next stop: Senate floor.” (July 30, 2025)

Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985.
