Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently used her social media platform to address climate change and federal spending priorities.

On August 4, 2025, Senator Blunt Rochester posted about the increasing impact of climate change on American communities. She wrote, “The reality is: our communities are facing stronger hurricanes, more frequent floods, and near-constant extreme temps because of climate change. We can feel it. Ignoring or manipulating the facts won’t change that. We owe it to our kids to act— not pretend like nothing’s wrong.”

The following day, August 5, she commented on government fiscal policy and tax benefits for wealthy Americans. In her post she stated, “Just remember: thanks to this administration and Congressional Republicans, you’re paying $4.1 trillion – not to fix roads or bridges, help you afford a home or health care, or put food on the table – but to give the richest among us another handout.”

Later that same day, Senator Blunt Rochester shared a brief remark referencing rising costs: “Someone told him costs were through the roof so he went to check.”

Blunt Rochester succeeded John Carney in representing Delaware in Congress starting in 2017 and has held her seat since then. Born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently residing in Wilmington, she graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA in 1985.
