The University of Delaware men’s swimming and diving team is currently in second place at the Bucknell Invitational, accumulating 743 points with one day remaining in the competition.
Matvei Namakonov set a new Kinney Natatorium record in the 100-breaststroke preliminaries with a time of 51.47, then matched that performance in the finals to secure first place in both races. Kade Snyder achieved his first program record in the 100-fly, finishing at 46.51.
In relay events, Snyder, Namakonov, Manuel Osorio, and Addison Collins won the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:25.09, which ranks fifth in team history. Dylan Smolders posted the tenth-fastest time for Delaware in the 400-IM at 3:56.38 and placed sixth overall.
Manuel Osorio finished fourth in the 100-fly with a time of 48.01 and took third place in the 100-breast at 54.34. Brian Wilbur secured sixth place in the same event with a time of 54.77.
Addison Collins was second in both the preliminary and final rounds of the 200-free; his finals time improved by .59 seconds from prelims and remains fourth all-time for Delaware.
Snyder also claimed victory in his second individual race of the day, winning the 100-back at 47.39 by nearly a full second margin. Kaloyan Levterov finished third (48.66), while James Haney took sixth (49.27).
The quartet of Cody Lonsberry, Haney, Brady Robidas, and Collins placed fifth in the 800-free relay with a time of 6:39.37—good for tenth-best on Delaware’s all-time list.
The invitational concludes tomorrow with preliminary heats starting at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 5 p.m.
