Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, who has represented Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently addressed several national issues on her social media account.

On August 24, 2025, Blunt Rochester criticized the decision to halt a specific energy project, stating, “Shutting this project down isn’t just bad for the planet, it’s bad for Americans’ bottom line. As energy costs and demand for electricity continue to rise, taking power offline -just to score political points – is as shortsighted as it is harmful.”

The following day, August 25, she commented on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s public statements about vaccines: “RFK Jr. is continuing his crusade to undermine trust in the vaccines that keep our communities safe and healthy. This isn’t making America healthier— there are no winners when we let deadly diseases go unchecked.”

On August 26, Blunt Rochester addressed disaster preparedness and climate policy under former President Donald Trump’s administration: “The Trump administration has undone nearly ALL the progress we’ve made in over two decades since Hurricane Katrina. As extreme weather becomes more frequent, dismantling systems that help us prepare and recover will have devastating consequences.”

Blunt Rochester was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. She earned her BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985. Her recent comments reflect ongoing debates over energy policy, vaccine misinformation led by public figures such as RFK Jr., and federal disaster management approaches following major hurricanes like Katrina.
