Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, a U.S. Congress member representing Delaware’s at-large district since 2017, addressed issues of air quality, immigration policy, and education in a series of tweets posted on April 28 and 29, 2026.

On April 28, Senator Blunt Rochester commented on the state of air pollution across the United States. She wrote: “Folks up and down our state know what happens when you don’t have clean air to breathe. They’re not alone: nearly half of all Americans are living in places with polluted air as this administration rolls back protections meant to keep our communities safe and healthy.”

Later that evening, she discussed Temporary Protected Status (TPS), an immigration program designed to protect individuals from countries experiencing conflict or natural disasters. On April 28, she stated: “People living under Temporary Protected Status strengthen communities— ending the program and sending folks back to dangerous situations is wrong, cruel, and illegal. This morning, I joined @SenMarkey, @RepPressley, & @RepDWStweets to call on the Supreme Court to Defend TPS.”

The following day, April 29, Senator Blunt Rochester made a brief statement regarding teachers: “And, to be Blunt, the teachers deserve it more.”

Blunt Rochester has been an active member of Congress since replacing John Carney in 2017. Born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently residing in Wilmington, she graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985.
