Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Delaware’s at-large district since 2017, has recently used her social media platform to criticize Republican efforts on health care and government funding.
On September 29, 2025, Blunt Rochester posted: “What’s unreasonable about giving millions Americans back the health coverage Republicans took away? If the White House wants to ‘be reasonable’, they should come to the negotiating table.”
The following day, she continued her criticism in another post dated September 30, 2025: “Why are Republicans lying to you? Because they voted to take health care away from 15 MILLION Americans, and raise YOUR premiums. Don’t buy their lies. We’re fighting to restore access to care and stop Republican price hikes.”
Later that same day, Blunt Rochester addressed government funding negotiations with a direct reference to former President Trump: “It’s the President’s job to keep the government open— President Trump said so himself. We can keep the government open and stop health care costs from rising even further, but only if he and congressional Republicans are willing to negotiate.”
Blunt Rochester has represented Delaware’s at-large district since replacing John Carney in 2017. She was born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently resides in Wilmington. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA earned in 1985, she continues her legislative work as debates over health care access and federal budget negotiations remain central issues for Congress.
