Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, a U.S. Congress member representing Delaware’s at-large district since 2017, recently took to social media to comment on federal policy decisions and their impact on constituents.
On March 23, 2026, Blunt Rochester posted: “When you see long lines at the airport, you know who to thank.”
Later that day, she wrote: “This administration just spent 1 BILLION dollars of your money to make sure wind farms don’t get built. You”ll have them to thank for higher electric bills each month.” The tweet addressed government spending and energy policy.
In a subsequent post the same evening, she stated: “When I said there was a coordinated effort by Republicans in Washington to undermine access to the ballot, I meant it.”
Blunt Rochester has served as Delaware’s sole congressional representative since succeeding John Carney in 2017. Born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently residing in Wilmington, she graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985.
