Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, currently representing Delaware’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, addressed housing affordability and fiscal policy concerns in a series of posts on July 22 and 23, 2025.
On July 22, Senator Blunt Rochester emphasized the growing difficulty for Americans to find affordable housing. She stated, “It’s no secret: for millions of Americans, a safe, affordable place to call home is drifting further and further out of reach. We need to build more homes– fast. That’s why I’m introducing another bipartisan bill to cut through red tape and help fast-track new homes.” Earlier that day, she also commented simply: “Good ”.
The following day, Blunt Rochester criticized Republican fiscal priorities. On July 23, she wrote, “For years, Republicans called rebuilding roads and bridges, lowering prescription drug costs, and increasing access to food and health care ‘too expensive’. Now, their massive billionaire handout is going to make our debt and deficit even WORSE. Cost was never the problem.”
Blunt Rochester has represented Delaware since 2017 after succeeding John Carney. Born in Philadelphia in 1962 and currently residing in Wilmington, she holds a BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University (source: Lisa Blunt Rochester biography).
