The University of Delaware announced on May 1 that Kristina Baugh has been hired as the new assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for its women’s basketball team. Head coach Sarah Jenkins said she is pleased to add Baugh to the staff, citing her extensive coaching background at various levels.
Jenkins said, “I am thrilled to welcome Kristina to our coaching staff. She brings a wealth of coaching experience and knowledge across multiple levels, including as a head coach, and we are excited to see the positive impact she will make on our players and program.”
Baugh most recently worked as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Boston College during the 2025-26 season. Before that, she spent two seasons with Stetson University, helping the Hatters achieve consecutive winning records for the first time since 2016-18 and securing a Women’s National Invitation Tournament appearance in 2023-24.
Prior roles include serving as head coach at Barry University from 2020 to 2023. In her first full season there, she led the team to a 16-10 overall record and guided them into the Sunshine State Conference Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2018. At Barry, one of her players set a conference record with 270 career three-point field goals made.
Earlier in her career, Baugh was head coach at University of Massachusetts-Boston for five seasons where she achieved an overall record of 87-49. Her tenure included leading UMass-Boston’s women’s basketball team to their first two twenty-win seasons, their inaugural Little East Conference Tournament Championship in 2017-18, and their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Her .640 winning percentage remains unmatched in school history.
Baugh also served as an assistant coach at Central Connecticut State University where teams reached two Northeast Conference tournaments and one WNIT appearance over three years. She has additional experience coaching men’s basketball with the Carolina Cheetahs in the American Basketball Association (ABA), leading them into postseason play during their inaugural year.
Reflecting on her new position at Delaware, Baugh said: “I’m incredibly honored to join the University of Delaware, Coach Jenkins, and her women’s basketball program. This is a special community built on strong values, competitive excellence, and genuine connection. I’m excited to support our student-athletes, help them grow on and off the court, and contribute to the continued success of this program.”
