The University of Delaware announced on May 1 that Hailey Anderson has joined the Fightin’ Blue Hens women’s ice hockey team as a transfer. Head coach Allison Coomey said Anderson is the program’s first transfer of the offseason.
Anderson, a forward from Greer, South Carolina, played two seasons at Franklin Pierce University before transferring to Delaware. During her time at Franklin Pierce, she contributed to the team’s conference championship and helped secure its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2026.
In the 2025-26 season with Franklin Pierce, Anderson played in 35 games, scored nine goals, recorded 13 assists, won 124 faceoffs, and blocked 28 shots. She also had five multi-point games and recorded points in seven consecutive games between February and March. In one game against Stonehill on February 7, she had one goal and four assists. The previous season (2024-25), she played in 29 games with two goals and three assists and was named to the NEWHA All-Academic Team.
Before college, Anderson attended Shattuck St. Mary’s where she served as a four-year captain and helped lead her team to a national championship in her senior year. She also played for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers—winning a district championship—and for Carolina Rage Hockey Club (boys), serving as captain in 2018. Her family has deep ties to ice hockey: her father Darren is an Iowa State Hall of Fame member; her uncle Darcy played professionally; her sister Gracie played at Michigan State; and her brother Dawson plays in the NAHL.
Looking ahead, Delaware supporters can follow updates about Anderson’s addition through social media channels including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.
