Five University of Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens football players are set to begin their professional careers in the National Football League, according to an April 27 announcement. Cornerback Nate Evans signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent, while offensive lineman Fintan Brose (Las Vegas Raiders), defensive tackle Nick Karika (New York Jets), safety Mysonne Pollard (Tennessee Titans), and kicker Nate Reed (Las Vegas Raiders) received invitations to rookie mini camps.
This development marks a significant milestone for the athletes and highlights the strength of Delaware’s football program in preparing student-athletes for opportunities at the next level.
Evans played in 24 games with 15 starts over two seasons for Delaware. He began his college career at North Carolina State before transferring, earning All-CAA Honorable Mention honors in his first season at Delaware. In 2025, he started all 13 games and led the team with eight pass breakups. His collegiate career concluded with a victory in the 68 Ventures Bowl, where he was named Defensive MVP.
Brose appeared in 56 games—third most in program history—and made 39 starts along the offensive line. He earned three all-conference selections, including a Conference USA First Team honor in his final year. Brose allowed only two sacks during his last season and helped lead Delaware to its first-ever Football Bowl Subdivision bowl win.
Karika transferred from Wagner College to play three seasons at Delaware, recording notable defensive statistics and being recognized on the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll. Pollard contributed both defensively and on special teams as a kick returner, finishing his senior year with four interceptions and earning Second Team All-Conference honors.
Reed played in a total of 46 college games—35 for Delaware—and became the school’s first specialist invited to attend the NFL Specialist Showcase at this year’s combine. He set records for kicking points scored in a game and most touchbacks while maintaining perfect execution on onside kicks during his final season.
The achievements of these five players reflect both individual effort and support from coaching staff as they move forward into professional football.
