Four student athletes from the University of Delaware women’s soccer team have been recognized for their academic achievements. Olivia Bley, Maggie Groh, Gabby Riley, and Constanze Viegmann were named to the Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC), according to an announcement made on Tuesday.
To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District Team, players must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and be at least sophomores academically. Additionally, they must have played in 90 percent of their team’s games or started in 66 percent.
Olivia Bley participated in all 18 matches this season, starting four times and logging 626 minutes on the field. She scored once against Mount St. Mary and recorded an assist at UMBC. Bley is a sophomore majoring in Business Analytics and was also selected for Conference USA’s all-academic team.
Maggie Groh played in every game this season with 13 starts. She led her team with 15 points, tied for most goals scored with five, and ranked second in assists with five. Groh received third team All-CUSA honors and has now earned CSC Academic All-District recognition two years in a row. The junior is majoring in kinesiology.
Gabby Riley started all 18 games for Delaware and led all field players with 1,566 minutes played. She topped the team with six assists while adding three goals to her record. Riley was named to the second team All-CUSA and is a sophomore majoring in kinesiology.
Constanze Viegmann appeared in 13 games this season, starting twelve times as a key defender over 890 minutes of play. She contributed one goal offensively and was named both to the CUSA All-Academic team and first team all-conference. The senior from Landenburg, Germany majors in Biomedical Engineering and previously made the CSC Academic All-District list in 2024.
