University of Delaware football players Kyre Duplessis and Jake Thaw have been named to the 2025 Conference USA (CUSA) Football All-Academic Team, according to an announcement from the league office. Both are graduate students and are among 12 athletes recognized for their academic and athletic achievements. Delaware is the only institution with more than one athlete on this year’s list.

Duplessis, who is majoring in statistics, has a cumulative GPA of 3.5. He joined the Fightin’ Blue Hens before the start of the 2025 season and has become a key player for the team’s offense, starting all ten games so far. At the time of his selection, he ranked third in Conference USA for receptions (48) and fourth for receiving yards (639). Duplessis plans to pursue a career as a cetologist after graduation.

Thaw is pursuing a master’s degree in international business and holds a 3.97 GPA. In his second season with Delaware, he has started eight games in 2025, recording 23 catches for 264 yards and one touchdown. Earlier this year, Thaw was named to the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List and was a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy. This marks his sixth academic honor overall and his fourth time earning all-conference academic recognition.

The University of Delaware has received high marks globally for educational quality, employability, faculty quality, and research standards. In late 2024, it was ranked tenth among public universities by Wall Street Journal based on student professional readiness and career outcomes.

Other members of the CUSA Football All-Academic Team include Ross Fournet (FIU), Emmanuel Oyebadejo (Jax State), Coleman Bennett (Kennesaw State), Evan Dickens (Liberty), Brett Canis (LA Tech), Nicholas Vattiato (MTSU), Gavin Harris (NM State), Christopher Eaton (Sam Houston), and Neil Campbell (UTEP).
