The University of Delaware has announced several changes to its football coaching staff, according to head coach Ryan Carty.

Manny Rojas, who has been with the team for eight seasons and four under Carty, has been promoted to assistant head coach, defense. He will also serve as safeties coach. Over his career, Rojas has coached 23 All-Americans and 35 all-conference players.

Rocco DiMeco is now co-defensive coordinator in addition to his roles as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. DiMeco recently finished his third season at Delaware and second as special teams coordinator. Under his guidance, the team became one of only four college football programs in the past decade to successfully execute three onside kicks, and the only one to do so at a 100-percent success rate. He helped kicker Nate Reed earn Academic All-America honors, an All-CUSA selection, and an invitation to the NFL Specialist Showcase at the NFL Combine. Kick returner Mysonne Pollard also received an All-CUSA honor under DiMeco’s direction.

Xavier Dye will continue as running backs coach while taking on additional responsibilities as recruiting coordinator. Dye joined Delaware in January 2025 after two seasons at Coastal Carolina.

Tyler Ferguson, who joined before the spring 2021 season as an offensive analyst and was elevated to senior offensive analyst before the 2024 season, will move from working with the offensive line to coaching tight ends starting in spring 2026.

Garrett Smith will transition from tight ends coach—a position he held since 2022—to quarterbacks coach. Smith completed his fourth season with Delaware in 2025 and was previously named assistant special teams coordinator ahead of the 2024 season.

Theo Brown continues with Delaware as senior special teams analyst after joining prior to the 2025 season. Alongside DiMeco, Brown contributed to Delaware’s unique accomplishment of three successful onside kicks over ten years and supported both Reed’s academic and athletic achievements and Pollard’s All-CUSA recognition.

Noah Plack remains focused on working with safeties in his new role as senior defensive analyst. Plack joined before the 2025 season; he is a UD graduate and three-time all-conference selection who aided KT Seay during a standout campaign that included an All-CUSA selection and Hero Sports Group of 5 All-America honor.
