Conference USA released an updated football schedule for the 2026 season on Apr. 29, following a settlement agreement between the league and Louisiana Tech. The University of Delaware football team will play a total of twelve games, including four non-conference matchups and eight Conference USA contests—split evenly between home and away games.
The new schedule is significant because it reflects changes in conference alignment after Louisiana Tech’s departure. The league will now consist of ten teams: Delaware, Florida International University (FIU), Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, New Mexico State, Sam Houston, and Western Kentucky University (WKU).
According to the announcement from Conference USA, Delaware’s revised slate includes matchups against eight teams that participated in bowl games last season. There are three notable changes from the original version of the schedule: the game at Missouri State has been moved to a home game on October 20; the matchup against New Mexico State was rescheduled as an away game on November 21; and adjustments were made to dates for contests with Kennesaw State and Middle Tennessee.
The full list of opponents includes Merrimack (home opener on September 3), Vanderbilt (away), Coastal Carolina (home), Virginia (away), Liberty (home during Parents & Family Weekend), Middle Tennessee (away on October 13), Missouri State (home on October 20), WKU (away), Kennesaw State (away November 7), FIU (homecoming game November 14), New Mexico State (away November 21) and Jax State at home to close out the regular season.
All dates are subject to change. Game times will be announced later by Conference USA or individual schools.
