Throws athlete Olamide Ayeni and distance runner Marie-Theres Gruber have been named to the third team all-conference by Conference USA, according to an announcement made Monday.
The honors were determined at the 2026 Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which took place February 27-28 at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Virginia. Athletes who finished first in their events earned First Team All-Conference honors, while those finishing second and third were named to the Second and Third Teams respectively.
Ayeni secured third place in the shot put with a throw of 14.56 meters. Gruber finished third in the 3,000-meter run, recording a time of 9:38.29. Both athletes are the first members of the Fightin’ Blue Hens to earn all-conference recognition since joining Conference USA.
